Working Paper by Joseph E. Stiglitz
In its Working Paper Series, the Central Bank of Iceland has now published a paper by Joseph E. Stiglitz. In early 2000, the Bank commissioned Mr. Stiglitz to undertake a study of the Icelandic economy with particular emphasis on factors relating to financial stability.
Joseph E. Stiglitz is a well-known economist. He has been professor at some of the best-known Universities in the United States, served for a while as Chairman of President Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers and for several years as Chief Economist of the World Bank. He is currently professor of economics at Columbia University in New York. In October of this year he was awarded the Nobel Prize in economics.
