Amended Terms of Auction for the purchase of Icelandic krónur by the Central Bank of Iceland in exchange for foreign currency
The Central Bank of Iceland has amended the Terms of Auction for the Bank’s purchase of Icelandic krónur in exchange for foreign currency. The auction that was announced on 25 May 2016 will be held on 16 June 2016.
The amendment lies in an extension of the deadline, provided for in Article 13 of the Terms of Auction, to submit valuations of offshore króna assets other than cash and bonds or bills issued by the Treasury or bearing an Icelandic State guarantee. The new deadline for submittal is 15:00 hrs. on 15 June 2016.
No other substantive amendments have been made to the Terms of Auction.
The aim of the amendment is to give bidders additional time to submit documentation, thereby promoting greater participation in the auction.
