Publications
The Central Bank of Iceland publishes a wide range of material, primarily for the purpose of providing information on inflation and monetary affairs, the position of financial institutions, and other topics to interested parties in Iceland and abroad. Many of the findings contained in these publications are summarised in the Bank’s Annual Report, which is published in Icelandic and English.
Monetary Bulletin
Monetary Bulletin is published four times a year. In early May and early November, it contains an inflation and macroeconomic forecast, together with an in-depth analysis of economic and monetary developments and prospects. The February and August issues include updated inflation and macroeconomic forecasts and an abbreviated report on economic and monetary developments and outlook. Monetary Bulletin is also issued in Icelandic under the title Peningamál.
Financial Stability
The Bank’s semi-annual Financial Stability report presents an overview of the position of the financial system, its strengths and potential weaknesses, and the macroeconomic and operational risks it may face. In addition, it explains how the Central Bank carries out the tasks necessary for the operation of a sound and effective financial system. Financial Stability is also published in Icelandic under the title Fjármálastöðugleiki.
Financial Market Infrastructure
The Bank’s Financial Market Infrastructure report is published in Icelandic once a year. Before autumn 2013, information on payment intermediation was included with the Financial Stability report, but since then the Bank has issued an expanded report under the title Fjármálainnviðir. Selected chapters from the report are also published in English.
Economy of Iceland
Another publication, Economy of Iceland, intended primarily for foreign corporations and institutions, provides background information on Icelandic society and the Icelandic economy. Economy of Iceland is published in English every other year.
Economic Affairs
The individual authors’ papers previously included in each issue of Monetary Bulletin are now issued in a separate web-based publication entitled Economic Affairs. The papers are issued in Icelandic as part of the series Efnahagsmál. Articles published in Economic Affairs are compiled in a printed anthology at the end of each calendar year.
Economic Indicators
The Central Bank of Iceland publishes a quarterly summary of economic developments, compendium of statistics, and update on the status of the financial system in its Economic Indicators report. The main focus is on web-based publication. Economic Indicators is also published in Icelandic under the title Hagvísar Seðlabanka Íslands.
Working Papers
The Bank also issues a range of other reports, including a series of research papers published under the title Working Papers.
