The second meeting of the Macroeconomic Council was held on 6 April 2017. Members of the Council are the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources, executives from the Confederation of Icelandic Employers, Association of Local Authorities, and Central Bank of Iceland.

Governor interviewed by Bloomberg in Japan
Last weekend, Governor Már Guðmundsson attended a Bank for International Settlements (BIS) meeting of central bank governors in Tokyo. Following the meeting, the Governor and Hannes Heimisson, Iceland’s ambassador to Japan, met with Mr. Nobuteru Ishihara, Japanese Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy, and with Board members of the Japanese-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce. Interview with the Governor
In connection with the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank last month, Governor Már Gudmundsson was interviewed for the IMF news outlet.
